Privacy Policy
How Horse Listing LLC collects, uses, and shares personal information
Effective and last updated: September 28, 2026
Official policy of Horse Listing LLC • HorseListing.net
This Privacy Policy explains how Horse Listing LLC (“Horse Listing,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use HorseListing.net, interact with our social-media pages, communicate with us, or use related services (collectively, the “Services”).
KEY POINT: Information submitted for a public listing or profile—including names, business information, approximate location, contact methods, photos, videos, and horse or program details—may be visible to anyone and may be shared outside HorseListing.net. Do not publish information you do not want made public.
1. Scope and privacy responsibility
This Policy applies to personal information controlled by Horse Listing LLC. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of sellers, buyers, breeders, ranches, trainers, auctions, payment processors, social-media platforms, linked websites, or other third parties.
Horse Listing LLC is responsible for the personal information it controls. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to the contact listed in Section 20.
2. Information you provide
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, password or authentication credentials, profile photo, general location, ranch or business name, website, social-media links, and account preferences. If you sign in through another service, we receive information that service is authorized to provide, such as your name, email address, and account identifier.
Listings and public content
We collect content you submit or authorize us to create or publish, including horse, stallion, breeding-program, sale, and auction details; pedigrees; registration information; prices; location; photos; videos; documents; logos; sale and lot numbers; performance and breeding information; links; and preferred contact methods.
Communications and support
We collect messages and inquiries you send to us, reports, feedback, survey responses, and communications sent through available platform features. If you contact another user outside HorseListing.net, that communication is controlled by you and the recipient.
Verification and service materials
We may collect information reasonably needed to verify identity, authority, ownership, authenticity, or compliance. If you hire us for photography, video, design, catalog, profile-setup, or promotional services, we may collect project files, instructions, contracts, approvals, and billing information.
Payments
If paid services become available, payment information may be collected and processed by a third-party payment provider. Horse Listing may receive transaction details such as your name, billing contact, purchased service, amount, payment status, and limited payment identifiers, but we do not intend to store full payment-card numbers.
3. Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and service providers may automatically collect:
device and browser information, operating system, language, and general device settings;
IP address and approximate location derived from it;
dates and times of access, pages viewed, searches, clicks, referral URLs, feature use, and interactions;
cookie, session, and similar identifiers needed to remember preferences, maintain login sessions, secure the Services, measure performance, and understand use; and
diagnostic, security, fraud-prevention, error, and server-log information.
4. Information from other sources
We may receive information from users who connect a horse to a stallion, breeding program, consignor, sale, or auction; from service providers; from public registry, sale, business, or social-media sources; and from people or programs that authorize us to build a profile. We may combine this information with other information described in this Policy.
If you provide personal information about another person, you represent that you have authority to do so and have given any notice or obtained any consent required by law.
5. How we use information
Provide, operate, organize, and display the Services, accounts, listings, profiles, connected records, search tools, inquiries, saved content, and alerts.
Create or assist with listing profiles, flyers, catalogs, social posts, photos, video, and other marketing services you request.
Communicate about accounts, listings, inquiries, support, policy changes, security, and transactions with Horse Listing.
Feature or promote listings, stallions, programs, sales, and auctions on Horse Listing’s website, email, and social-media channels as authorized by our Terms or separate agreement.
Personalize content and improve usability, search relevance, design, performance, and accessibility.
Measure traffic and understand how the Services are used.
Protect users, animals, and the Services; prevent and investigate fraud, scams, abuse, security incidents, and prohibited conduct; and enforce our Terms.
Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, establish or defend legal claims, and maintain business records.
Send marketing messages where permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
Evaluate or complete a financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale, or other business transaction.
6. Public information and profile connections
Listings and profiles are intended for public discovery. Public information may appear in search engines, previews, social-media posts, connected profiles, screenshots, shared links, or third-party archives. Other users may copy or redistribute public content. Removing content from HorseListing.net may not remove copies controlled by search engines, social-media platforms, recipients, or other third parties.
Connecting a horse, stallion, breeding program, sale, or auction may cause information from one profile to appear on another. Contact us if you believe a connection is inaccurate or unauthorized.
7. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information as follows:
Publicly and to other users, when you publish a listing or profile, select public contact details, submit an inquiry, or direct us to share information.
To service providers that help with hosting, databases, storage, authentication, email, analytics, security, customer support, payments, content delivery, and business operations. They may use information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.
To connected programs, stallion owners, consignors, sales, auctions, or listing participants when reasonably needed to maintain an authorized connection or address an inquiry or dispute.
To professional advisers, insurers, auditors, lenders, and counterparties for legitimate business, legal, or transaction purposes.
To government authorities, law enforcement, courts, registries, or others when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, users, animals, or the Services; prevent fraud; or respond to an emergency.
In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
With your consent or at your direction.
Horse Listing LLC does not sell personal information for money. If our practices change, or if applicable law treats certain advertising or analytics disclosures as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising, we will provide the notices and choices required by law.
8. Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development tools, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember choices, protect accounts, understand traffic, diagnose problems, and improve the Services. Browser or device settings may allow you to block or delete some technologies, but doing so may affect functionality.
If we introduce nonessential analytics or advertising technologies that require consent, we will provide an appropriate choice mechanism. At launch, Horse Listing does not promise to respond to every browser-based “Do Not Track” signal because there is no single uniform standard; we will honor legally required preference signals where applicable.
9. Marketing communications
We may send service-related messages needed to operate your account. We may also send promotional email, text, or other messages where permitted and with any consent required by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing email through the message link or contact us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential account, security, listing, transaction, or legal notices.
10. Legal bases and consent
Depending on where you live and the activity involved, we process personal information to perform a contract with you; with your consent; to comply with legal obligations; and for legitimate purposes such as operating, securing, improving, and promoting the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights. Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
11. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining accurate business and transaction records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type and sensitivity of information, account status, public listing history, risk, and applicable law.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups or where retention is required or permitted for security, fraud prevention, legal claims, tax, accounting, or compliance. Public content shared outside the Services may remain beyond our control.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password, protect account access, use caution with public contact details, and notify us promptly of suspicious activity.
13. International and cross-border processing
Horse Listing is based in the United States and serves users in the United States and Canada. Personal information may be stored or processed in the United States, Canada, or other countries where we or service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from your jurisdiction, and information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or national-security authorities under local law. We use safeguards required by applicable law for cross-border processing.
14. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights to:
access or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you;
correct inaccurate personal information;
delete personal information or close your account;
withdraw consent or object to or restrict certain processing;
receive certain information in a portable format;
opt out of marketing, targeted advertising, certain profiling, or the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable; and
appeal a refusal of a privacy request or complain to the appropriate privacy regulator.
To make a request, use the contact in Section 20. Describe your request and the account or email involved. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and identity. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain any denial and available appeal process.
You will not be discriminated against for exercising an applicable privacy right. Some information may be exempt, and deleting certain information may prevent us from providing part of the Services.
15. Canadian users
Canadian users may request access to and correction of their personal information and may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Horse Listing seeks to identify the purposes for collection, limit collection and use, apply appropriate safeguards, and provide a process to challenge compliance. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial privacy authority.
16. U.S. state privacy notices
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws may have additional rights described in Section 14. The exact rights and whether a law applies may depend on the state, the type of information, and statutory thresholds. Horse Listing will process verified requests as required by applicable law. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users and do not knowingly sell personal information for money.
17. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Accounts and listings are limited to adults as described in our Terms. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
18. Third-party services and social media
The Services may link to or interact with third-party websites, auctions, payment services, social networks, authentication providers, video hosts, maps, and other services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. When you share a listing to social media or contact another user through an external service, that third party may collect information about you.
19. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Services, technology, vendors, and laws change. We will post the updated Policy with a revised “last updated” date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. Materially different uses of previously collected information will be handled as required by applicable law.
